Welcome

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Four is designing a 1.6 mile segment of Midway Road (CR 712) in St. Lucie County. The project will be completed in two segments:

1.) Glades Cut-Off Road to Jenkins Road (231440-4)
2.) Jenkins Road to Selvitz Road (231440-5)

The project limits are shown on the location map below. The proposed projects widen the existing two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided road, inclusive of 7-foot buffered bike lanes in both directions. In addition, the project will include a 12-foot bicycle / pedestrian path on the south side of the road, and a 6-foot sidewalk along the north. The design project improves safety and allows opportunities for pedestrian, bicycle, and transit facilities. The project includes the replacement of the existing bridge over Florida's Turnpike.

Working with the key stakeholders: St. Lucie County, St. Lucie Transportation Planning Organization (TPO), Florida's Turnpike Enterprise (FTE), the scope of the project has expanded to include a new partial interchange with Florida's Turnpike. The design of the new partial interchange (FPID: 451858-1) will be led by Florida's Turnpike Enterprise and includes a northbound off-ramp, and southbound on-ramp. The partial interchange will be constructed in conjunction with the Midway Road segment from Glades Cut-Off Road to Jenkins Road (231440-4). For more information please visit www.midwayramps.com.

The Midway Road project will establish connectivity to Florida's Turnpike Mainline via newly constructed off-ramps on both the northbound and southbound lanes. This interchange, situated between Midway Road/CR 712 and Florida's Turnpike Mainline SR 91, has been meticulously designed by the Florida's Turnpike (FPID 451858-1). We are pleased to announce that the Midway Road projects have been identified as a congestion relief project (number 18) under Governor DeSantis's Moving Florida Forward Infrastructure Initiative helping to secure and advance construction funding.
